• Just in Elgin with 715 movement.
  Here is my latest restore project that I just got. It was in very bad condition; case scratches, crystal scratches, dial edges need some help. The movement is a 715. To my surprise there were a few small black dots on the watch case that I thought was dirt but would not clean off. It was not dirt it was tiny welded beads that where bubbled dots. I was able to get them off “used a file” and polish them out and that’s the beauty of Stainless Steel. How the heck did the small weld bead dots get there did someone get electrocuted with this watch on? I hope I did not buy a cursed watch! Overall I’m happy with the end results.
• Breguet Type XXI (on a steel bracelet)
  I have been thinking about my next purchase for a while and out of a number of choices (JLC master calendar, Breguet black dial marine big date and Breguet Type XXI) I think I have decided upon the Breguet Type XXI. I have been offered a used, perfectly conditioned, recently serviced, two year warranty, full box and papers watch for 50% current retail. Looking on Chrono 24 I can only find one watch for this kind of price and every other at a much higher ticket.But what has really sold me is the amount of 'watch' you get for the money. It's a GMT, Chronograph, flyback, date, with three sub dials from one of the top 5 watchmakers in the world. All for about £4,000 (including 20% UK tax). Furthermore the watch is so much more stunning in the metal than in the photographs. Can anyone put me off buying a ridiculous 14th watch? (Picture below from the net).
• Hesalite scratch removal -- really bad
  I'm either (1) SUPER hard on watch crystals, or (2) this Hesalite scratches awfully easily. With more than a dozen daily wearers, and with most of my watch time spend in an office, I'm very surprised at how bad this crystal looks. I know the pics make it look really bad due to the angle of the light. But please believe me: It looks that bad at pretty-much any angle.If I replace it with a new Hesalite, it'll only end up looking this bad again in a year.So, which should I do? -- give it to my omega boutique for a Sapphire replacement (if there is such a thing)? Or just keep it, & continuously use some kind of home remedy? THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE!
